The Common Military Syllabus (Recruits) (CMS(R)) for training adult recruits was introduced in 1974 to replace the existing All Arms Basic Recruit Training Syllabus 1967, and this resulted in the creation of the Common Military Syllabus Part 1 Recruits 1976.
